There are plenty of hockey fans in Buffalo, and with good reason. They get behind their team, the Buffalo Sabres, as the team is consistently one of the top drawing cards during the NHL season that runs from September through April. Fort Niagara State Park
For some truly scenic hiking trails that come with a plethora of sports amenities and recreation opportunities, make your way to Old Fort Niagara State Park. In addition to the popular woodland hiking trails you'll find such other attractions as a great view of Lake Ontario, picnic grounds, playgrounds, soccer fields, a water slide and three swimming pools.

Darien Lake State Park
Darien Lakes State Park is known for its challenging, hilly terrain that surrounds the 12-acre Harlow Lake. There are several excellent recreation trails to be found in this naturally alluring part of the area. In addition to the trails, you will also find an impressive 158 campsites, a beach, playgrounds, great fishing spots, and horseback riding trails, too. Additionally, the trails here are open for not only hiking, but for sports like cross-country skiing and snowmobiling as well.

The Genesee County Park and Forest is quite popular with hikers and outdoor enthusiasts.
